Zimalist Fluted Decanter with stopper

Zimbalist Fluted Decanter

This item has sold.

Brass with silver nickel plating, features beautiful ornate tooling and a 2 tune 28 note Thorens musical mechanism playing Chas Clerc's "La Sorella" or "La Mattchiche" and we're sorry to admit we haven't been able to identify the second tune. The music plays when the stein is lifted. It measures approximately 12" high x 5 1/4" in diameter.

Another gift for the person who has everything. Circa 1955, this lovely decanter was designed by Fred Zimbalist, a cousin of Ephrem Zimbalist, Sr. (the famed concert violinist).
Silver pieces such as this one were all Hand tooled in India and no two were exactly the same.
It is an older piece and will look fabulous holding flowers or greens. We would hesitate to decant any wines or such for drinking purposes.

This will surely be a conversation piece where ever it is placed

Incidentally, Dean Martin and Teresa Brewer sang the Lyrics "My Ma gave me a nickel to buy a pickle. I didn't by a pickle, I bought some Chewing Gum .... etc. to "La Sorella" aka "La Mattchiche" aka "Chew 'n Gum"
