This lovely White Onyx Reuge musical mosque with shining gold plated accents (image does not do this piece justice) including the famous Reuge Gargoyle feet, was made in Italy. A tiny cherub sits on top strumming his lute and a golden lyre hides behind the doors. It has a Reuge 18 note movement that plays "Love is a Many Splendored Thing" as the doors open and "Arrivedercii Roma" as the doors close. Rare because, it has been custom modified so that the doors remain open until the frontal button is pressed again to close them.
These musical carousels were originally made in Italy in a small town near Florence. This piece is hand-cut in white onyx and finished with gold-plating over brass. Dimensions: approximately 6 1/27" in diameter and stands almost 13" high.
Currently we have only one piece of this kind. it is in excellent condition. In the image the dome looks a bit darker than the body but it's not, it's only the lighting.
