This is one of Reuge's finest pianos. A burl elm piano shaped cabinet with exquisite marquetry of musical instruments gracing its side and back panels.
It plays "The Allegro", "Romance" and "The Minuet" from Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nacht Musik. In 1787, Mozart completed and called this a Serenade #13 for strings in G Major. Though originally written for a small string ensemble (two violins, viola and bass), it is played quite often by full string orchestras.
It is engagingly charming as a 3 tune 72 note musical movement and perfect for this Grand Piano. Its raised and delicately shaped keys are not yellow as the lighting of the image suggests. Previously owned and in excellent condition, it measures 8 1/2" wide x 14 1/4" front to back x 6" high and will charm all who experience it. A very special conversation piece!
