Old new stock, a Swiss 1.28 Mechanism playing "Swedish Rhapsody" and "Moulon Reuge" by Strauss activated by lifting the lid. (please note image show up a bit darker than than it should). It doesn't show the beautiful straight grain of the border.)
The lid features a beautiful Italian inlay of a violin, music scroll and perhaps clarinets or recorders in the background, surrounded by some flora. This lovely octagonal musical jewelry box is a deep and old Truhe (Chest) style resting on a carved wooden base. It also features a lock and key as do most upscale cabinets.
Hard to find a deep cabinet such as this, these days.
