The new one will be completely refurbished and its Silver on Brass Cabinet polished. Its Thorens AD30 disc playing mechanism (with our two year warranty) is quite large with storage space for about 40 discs. Circa late 1950s, this magnificent piece was designed by Fred Zimbalist, a cousin of Ephraim Zimbalist (the famed concert violinist).
Silver cases such as these were all Hand tooled in India and no two cases were rarely the same. Medallion patterns on the exterior and interior of the lid are rare. (The new one has no medallians but has a splendid all over pattern - new photos on the way )
This case is brass with silver nickel plating and features very intricately ornate tooling. Stands on short graceful Cabriole legs (Queen Anne Style) It measures approximately 17 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 8 1/4" high.
The sound is superb and it comes with 30 discs.
It will be a beautiful stand out piece where ever it is placed and/or a very important addition to your collection. For further information, please don't hesitate to call us!
