Currently not available, we're looking for another. This particular piece and a couple of others have been sold;
A new one will be completely refurbished and its Silver on Brass Cabinet polished. Its Thorens AD30 disc playing mechanism (with our two year warranty) is quite large with storage space for about 40 discs. Circa late 1950s, this magnificent piece was designed by Fred Zimbalist, a cousin of Ephraim Zimbalist (the famed concert violinist).
Silver cases such as these were all Hand tooled in India and two cases were rarely the same. Medallion patterns on the exterior and interior of the lid are rare. (Many have no medallions but all have splendid patterns)
These cases are actually brass with silver nickel plating and feature very intricately ornate tooling. They usually stand on short graceful Cabriole legs (Queen Anne Style) and measure approximately 17 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 8 1/4" high.
The sound is superb and it comes with multiple discs, depending upon the particular purchase.
They make a beautiful stand out piece where ever placed and/or a very important addition to your collection. For further information, please don't hesitate to call us!
