Silver pieces such as this one were all Hand tooled in India and no two were exactly the same.
Lay it flat and it will hold trinkets and things in its 4" x 4" compartment. Its compartment is not lined. Brass with silver nickel plating, features ornate tooling.and small chamber to hold rings and small things when you open the book. It measures approximately 7 3/4" x 4 1/2" wide x 2 1/3" high and plays a 2 tune 28 note Thorens movement that we have not been able to identify.
