Essential sound in traditional music from African countries such as Mali and West Africa. The LP Tail cabasa is similar in design and construction as the traditional Cabasa. The shell, handle and beads are crafted from high impact plastic. A tough nylon cord is used to string the beads. This yields a bright and lively sound with greater dynamic range and durability than its coconut and seed predecessor...yet it has the same shape and feeling. The long nylon cord can be used to snap the beads against the shell or hold the beads steady while turning the shell for varied sounds.
