For Discerning Musicians and Students Soft shell cases, sometimes referred to as fiberboard or chipboard cases are firm but not as firm as wood or molded plastic cases. Easy to carry, they can provide good protection for your guitar when being carried in and out of your home or car. These cases provide some protection against temperature and humidity changes (from a warm house to the cold outdoors, for example) which is far better than no case at all. We recommend folding a large towel under and over your guitar when putting it in the case. The outer construction is water repellent and the edging is stitched with vinyl trim which helps protect against wear. These soft shell cases are the industry standard and made in the U.S.A.
