This Reuge Sublime Harmony musical Box with 6 butterflies playing 6 bells and a drum played by 8 small beaters is an elegant 4.144 (4 tune - 144 notes) cartel. The front panel features an inlaid medallion of two playful butterflies. This beautiful cabinet is the epitome of masterful marquetry and graceful carpentry which added to the precision engineering of the mechanism, increases it's harmonic tonality and sonority.
The original owners hope that the next owner will have as much enjoyment from this beautiful musical box as they did. If this instrument were being produced today it would be easily upwards of 48,000.00.
The cabinet and table are in pristine condition. The cylinder has developed a slightly aged patina.
