Black Russian with pure gold leaf depicting scenes of Romeo and Juliet. It plays the beautiful theme from Romeo and Juliet (Prokofiev's theme, Op. 64). If you would like to hear the tune, just give us a call. Pieces hand-numbered. Story card and certificate of authenticity included. The lid comes off completely to see a lined burgundy top with a wind up key and a small knob to start and stop the music.

The Romeo and Juliet Ballet tells of the love of a man and a woman, set against the rivalry of their families.
The story was written by William Shakespeare (1564-1616), the story was first interpreted for ballet by Sergei Prokofiev and the score was completed in 1935. Its first presentation in ballet was on Jan. 11, 1940, at the Kirov State Theatre of Opera and Ballet, St. Petersburg.
